He is a week old, and we thought this was supposed to be harder. I am sure I just cursed the rest of our lives by saying that, but so far, this isn't so bad. Gabriel has decided that sleep is way better than staying awake to cry, and he sleeps like his mother, long and deep. Gabriel has had several spates of 4 hour sleep in the first week, and most of those are happening over night, so that is working out well with our schedule.
Gabe had his first trip to the pediatrician yesterday and he is healthy as an ox. He has managed to put on two ounces since we left the hospital on Thursday. The doctor said that she didn't even want to see us for a two week check-up. She just told us to schedule an appointment for his one month check-up.
While we realize that we are now second class citizens compared to the life and times of Gabriel, we are both doing well. There are times that this seems like a dream because it has finally happened. Our families have been nothing short of wonderful, even though they are all a thousand or more miles from us.
For all of you that have been complaining about the lack of pictures, here are a few more to hold you over until the Gabriel Johnson collection is published....
